About Ron

Just about everything I believe has been shaped by the written word. But books don't force a belief; they stir the imagination so that you, the reader, eventually draw your own conclusions. We grow richer in spirit when we read, deeper in our understanding of the universe and our role in it. That's why I read. That's why I write. To offer you a bit of myself. Come along on my journey, won't you? There's plenty of room.

Crazy Goals

Posted On Jul 21 2015 by

Writers have to think a year ahead, especially once we’ve gotten a series going and it’s gaining fans.  I’m on book 4 of the Cherry Hill Series and am already planning the next series, which I’ve titled NIGHT MOVES. This is a paranormal series and a bit darker than Cherry Hill. It is also not YA.  However, I still intend to write another YA series. When? Next year. At the same time I’m writing NIGHT MOVES. In fact, it will follow and intersect the NIGHT MOVES story line.  Crazy goals. But that’s how we push ourselves. We keep getting …

Friday Top 10 – Top 10 Reasons to be a Wattpad Writer

Posted On Jul 17 2015 by

Recently I’ve re-discovered Wattpad, and I don’t know why I ever gave up on it in the first place! I have a long, long list of reasons to join Wattpad, but I’ve broken it down to my top 10. So here are my top 10 reasons to be a Wattpad writer: 10. The thrill of seeing a 12 year-old kicking your butt in rankings. 9.  You can pretend that all those views are the total number of people reading your book instead of the sum of reads per chapter. 8.  Having the aformentioned 12 year-old leave advice on your story. …

Wattpad Lessons

I had the pleasure of interviewing Katherine Ganzel for the Teen Writers Publish! podcast on Saturday. Most will have never heard of Katherine, but she’s 2014 Watty award winner and has close to 30,000 followers on Wattpad. She’s also a Wattpad ambassador.  I must admit, I’d never heard of Wattys or Wattpad ambassadors until a few months ago. In a half hour interview, I learned how much I’d been doing wrong on Wattpad and the amazing possiblities of becoming an active participant on that platform.  So today I entered NOW I KNEW YOU in the 2015 Watty awards. A …

The Science of God

Posted On Jul 1 2015 by

I have a confession. I’ve allowed my desire to write and sell books to push my faith into a back seat position. With all that is happening in America and the world, this is no time for Christians to go on the defense or, as in my case, retreat into the shadows. So I’ve started a new book on Wattpad. Here I talk about my journey of faith. As an engineer and man of science, I take a unique perspective. I was not raised in the church and would not seriously consider a life of faith until I’d lived 30 …

The Revolution – for young writers

Posted On May 10 2015 by

The following is the author’s forward for a series of short books my partner, Gina Conroy, and I are publishing under the title Teen Writer’s Publish! The books and the associated podcast are more than writing and publishing instruction. It’s our desire to inspire a silent revolution among our youth, a desire to pursue your dreams regardless of the pressures that will be placed upon you as you near high school graduation. The Revolution For those of you who follow me on Instagram (@Ron_Estrada), you know I love to post inspirational photos and quotes. Some are my own, others borrowed. The …
